The enhanced recipes feature increased levels of high-quality animal protein, including New Zealand grass-fed beef and lamb, sustainably caught fish, and cage free chicken.

The range now contains 94 percent and 98 percent meat and organs for canine and feline diets respectively. This provides a sustained source of energy throughout the day.

Protein is fundamental not only for muscle development, but also for metabolic function and organ health. This is especially important for cats, who have higher protein requirements.

Refined fat to protein balance

The updated formulations also include refined fat to protein ratios that better align with species-specific needs.

Fat is a concentrated energy source and, when balanced correctly with protein, supports metabolism, brain function, and hormone regulation without contributing to unhealthy weight gain.

Improved texture for feeding ease

The freeze-dried recipes have been refined to improve texture, reducing crumbling while maintaining nutrient density and digestibility.

This means less waste at the bottom of the bag. Although, in my house, Albus has never had any complaints about cleaning that up.

The canned range has also been refreshed, with a lighter color and fewer visible fat globules, improving visual appeal while maintaining flavour.

What's new in the enhanced Feast range:

Increased green-lipped mussel content

Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly DHA and EPA, are key nutrients for skin and coat health. They support skin cell function and help maintain the skin barrier.

New Zealand green-lipped mussels are naturally rich in these fatty acids and have always been a feature of the Feast range. The enhanced formulations now include increased levels to further support these benefits.

Balanced with omega-6 fatty acids from meat, this helps maintain skin hydration and coat condition.

Essential vitamins and minerals for overall health

The updated recipes include naturally sourced vitamins such as A, D, and E, which are important for skin, vision, immune function, and energy metabolism.

They also provide essential minerals like zinc, selenium, and iron in their natural forms from meat, organs, green tripe, and seafood, supporting their bioavailability.

Combined with the benefits of a protein-rich diet, this helps support immune health and ongoing wellbeing.

What else is new

In addition to the formulation changes, the freeze-dried range is now available in larger pack sizes, with K9 Natural in 3.6kg and most Feline Natural options in 800g.

Packaging has also been updated. It now uses up to 42 percent recycled plastic while maintaining product freshness.

There are also new flavours available, including Chicken and Lamb and Chicken for Feline Natural, and Chicken for K9 Natural. From what I have seen, they are very well received.
